Guest Attire For Any Party

Posted on Thursday 14 August 2008

The Celebrations team knows you may have a great idea for your next party, but then you may have questions that include what should the guests wear to the big event?

When you’re party planning, proper attire is a concern that many hosts face. Whether you want friends and guests in holiday costumes or the ever popular business attire, we have tips to create an easy dress code.

1. “Festive”

What It Means: No antlers allowed. Festive attire is actually something between business attire and cocktail attire.

How to Pull It Off: Work attire can be styled up after leaving the office. Cocktail clothing can also be dressed down by donning something more casual or covered up.

2 . “Elegant Casual” or “Dressy Casual”

What It Means: Basically, you expect guests be comfortable and relaxed while still looking put together.

How to Pull It Off: It’s easy: dress nicer than usual for the office, and bring a few things for a quick change on your way to the party.

3. “Creative Black Tie”

What It Means: Guests can use their own style of a black tie dress. They can add their own trendy touch or personality to formal wear.

How to Pull It Off: A black dress is popular, but boost the style and include something traditional with a modern twist.

4. “Informal”

What It Means: Keep in mind that informal does not mean casual. It’s actually closer to “semi-formal.”

How to Pull it Off: Try to be unique and think of this as a less-stuffy formal event.
